Figurines~
Long story short, I want to learn how to make figurines. I already have a plethora of anime/game ones, and I'd love to have some of my own characters grace my shelves.
However, I have absolutely no idea how to go about this.
The nearest help I've had is here:
http://honya-ch.com/2008/12/13/koto.....e-figure-book/
& fffff, I don't know Japanese. =n=
Does anyone, by any slight chance, know of any helpful articles/websites/etc.?
I'd be entirely grateful~

Part 4 is where all the major work begins and is the longest chapter in the book. In this lesson, we begin with creating a wire frame and applying polymer clay to the skeleton to make a rough model of the body. From there we learn how to remove excess clay to sculpt the body and add small details such as appendages. This section is quite detailed and has tips I would have never thought of like actually cutting the figure and filling in the cuts in order to correct its standing posture.
So try like, polimer clay modelmaking or something

This isnt anime but you get the general idea
If you scroll down theres a plethera of links below and I think even this article might be helpful to you :3
basically i made a figurine back in class one year in high school. we twisted wire into the generic shape we wanted and then 'filled it out' with tinfoil/aluminium foil to take up most of the bulk. then you add your sculpy on top so that you dont waste so much clay. make it big enough to take up most of the bulk, but small enough so that your figure isnt obese and hilarious when you add the clay. unless you want obese or hilarious looking.
we made ours with colored clay, but i like the idea of using base colors, say if i want a grey jacket, i'll use grey clay but then paint over it with additional colors/etc.
My boyfriend's most recent shool lighting project, he used just plain Sculpy... not like, sculpey 2 or something. also maybe buy samples of clay just to see which you prefer, something softer or harder.
