The morons who run these sites (or investors who push for these initiatives) believe that the rules of "Economy Of Scale" applies to news articles even though those are not physical objects.
1 million people can read the same news article at the same time which is not the case for physical objects.
Running a news outlet properly is hands down the best return to investment profession (See James O'Keefe)
Every outlet that pushed for quantity suffered because people have a finite free time to read shit and be entertained.
So this begs the question how the hell mouth breathing morons keep gaining positions of power in companies.
They see social media news outlet going under everywhere but still new bosses keep making the same mistake.
Even when these crony CEO's secures a fat severance bonus for running a company to the ground they are effectively UNHIRABLE.
and having connections to fail upwards only applies for a select elite few in Hollywood,
and in Wash. DC but that is a highly gate kept group of exclusive aristocrats, like you have to be born a Kennedy for example to get into that club.

It's simple, really: they just make it look like they know what they're doing when in reality they've about as much combined intelligence as a shovel and two candy bracelets. Hey, I never said they're GOOD at management, I'm just saying my pattern recognition shows that any manager worth their salt would know the first rule of business is to not rock the boat 'til you know what's keeping it afloat.
