When Elon decided a couple days ago that making users log in before they could use Twitter at all would solve a "problem" they were having with "scraping information from accounts," somebody forgot to tell Twitter that it had to log in to itself. Result, Twitter was DDOSing itself. Since you're not having troubles with it today, I guess they fixed the issue.
The free version of Twitter requires you to log in every time you visit. Twitter Premium permits you to remember your login. I was fed up with the service and I cancelled my account with them.
I have friends on Twitter, and make occasional use of the platform. I costs me nothing, so one cannot complain of a few hiccups. My rocket models blow up almost as often as Elon's big birds after all.
Just like with AUP, people are making a big deal out of what went on with Twitter. In the case of Twitter and all websites in general, bugs tend to happen when they update things, it's not Elon's fault that some of the new implementations caused Twitter to go haywire.
They say they are going to leave, but then come back.
(I do have a gripe with FA, but that is because of the Admin's history of arbitrarily enforcing the rules on some accounts and not others that drew the same thing or worse)
