has anyone here got/played the ps3 version of spider-man shattered dimensions?

if so then can you help me?
I've encountered some game breaking glitch and can't progress
I'm on the Carnage level and I'm meant to find a scientist...ive seen a youtube video of where he's meant to be...but he's not there for me
and i can't progress without him
any help fixing this issue?
