I have a Google sheet that I use to track my commissions. I have a tab for commissions that I've already ordered and a separate tab for the ones I want to commission. For the commission tab, I track the artist's name, the date I ordered it, the expected date if any, a link to their socials, and how much I paid.

I tried to use google sheets to help me out but my knowledge of that program is rather rudimentary. If you have a template you're willing to share, I'd love to see it and possibly use it for my own!

I'm sitting on the other side of the fence, but to keep track of things you could also investigate using Kanban-like boards. Wekan is an open source self-hostable alternative, it is what I use to track my commissions and other things to do. Trello used to be the first popular paid one of that sort, but since that is a commercial service, your data may not be as private as you'd like.

Interesting! I've looked at some videos to get an understanding of it and really enjoy what that kind of software brings to the table. It even seems to be useful for stuff outside of commissions, quite a great bit of software that I wouldn't mind learning.

Well using it is not gonna take much learning. If you want to run it on a server of your own, or your local system.. I mean it can be dockerized so it isn't that hard to get going if you are already familiar with webshit.

I generally just commission artists one by one, so my scattermind can't forget about it lmao
