I KNOW I'm going to lose some people on this or at least offend a few people or some other rubisih. But you know what? I don't give a shit. I don't fear the flash back my words brign about. If it gets you hot under your ass, the I'm GLAD. THat's what it's ment to do, provoke emotion and hopfuly most importantly THOUGHT!
Now, on to the main subject of this AFJ. And quite simply, this one is all about egos. And just how over inflated many have gotten.
Now I'm not saying it's not a good thing to be proud of yourself, hardly. You do something good, you should be damn proud of it. Anytime I compleat a big render I'm super proud of it. However, does that mean I think it's the best things since sliced bread? No. D I feel that I am superior to anyone else that did not do it first? Hardly. Would I not talk to someone cause they can't do it? Very much the oposit. Hell! I'd likely offer to teach them. And I have. Point is, just cause your good at something does not give you a reasion to get a big head. REmember, Pride is the rout of all evils.
Secondly, you folks that think your so damn hot cause I'm recongnised, or I know this person, or I get this that and whatever done for me. You folks make me sick. Knowing a person, or getting something nice done for you is NOT a fucking status symbol. You should be greatfull people call you friend, not using it to make yourself seem more important then others.
While I'm on this subject, I might as well give you my feelings about Cliques... I goddamn fucking HATE them. Hre are abunch of people that sticvk togeather but only for the soul rasion of making others feel lousy cause yoyur not good enough to be part of them. I swear, If 'I' EVER gt so big a head that I can decied who's to little to talk too, or fear for talking to someone cause my other friends would disown me, I want to be shot in the head. Or worse yet, folks that will talk to you, but cause your not as good as them in something your only an aquntince. YEah, so can't draw, does that make me any less talented then the next person in the medium I do use?!
And while 'm on that track, lets side bar to something alittle more centered to here. I have been perusing some folks commision pages, and I'm fucking appaled to A) What they think there art is worth and B) The fact that there are people that are either stupid or ignorent enough to PAY it. Where the hell do you get off thinking that your worth that much, for starters? Serriosly, who blew up your damn ego THAT bloody high? Oh wait, I know. It's you god damn ignorent fans out there. Don't you reilise that the MOMENT you pay into that sort of thing, you have Justified them and accknolaged that they can do that, and that inflates there over padded egos more? What' more that money coudl be going to such better things, like starving kids, or resherch to end desies? but rather then that, it gos to some ink on a page s you can say, look what I got, an then forget about it years later when the ink fades. THINK!
Too sumerize: Just cause your good, does not make you god and your not bettter then anyone else out there, just a little more talented. Second, just cause you know someone that thinks so highly of themselfs, doesnot make you any more unimportaint you might have been before knowing them. Third, Just cause there's allot of you congragated does not make you any more special then any other group that congragates togeather. And lastly, just cause you think your worth allot does not make you any more wortless when your dead.
Update: I'm one fucking pissed off folf. Renders and aniamations comming, no spcifics, whatever I feel like doing will get done.

I'm sorry, but no one piece of paper and ink is worth as much as a brand new game console.
What's more, MANY arn't even giving you a physical copy, they are giving you digital medium now.

And yet otehrs are very much srrious with that. Again, I don't care how good you are, my limit is 100. And even then it's starting to go lower.

If not, they're clearly gonna have to drop their prices if they wanna sell something. Either way, no harm to me.
Not saying some of them don't have egoes to match, but if they're getting their asking price then they're clearly on to a good thing. If someone doesn't have the money to pay, they shouldn't be buying overpriced art.
Mind you, art's a fickle thing. Someone who's selling at a hundred or whatever today, might be lucky to get $20 tomorrow, or vice versa.
It's like that saying, do not be rigid like the oak, but flexible like the willow.
On that note, can I sell you some alien invasion insurance? Only $200/month! Eehheheheee. x3
I'll be honest, a lot of this sounds much more like whining because you don't have or get that kind of money.
anyway i do agree with yah here especially in terms of people selling overpriced art. have you seen nek0gami's commission rates? talk about extreme. granted he does great work but still that is a bit much to be chargin folks. not saying he has an ego as i dont know him that much but at a glance one might be inclined as to think so. and it's not just him either, there are plenty of other artists out there who charge an arm and a leg for there artwork for no reason other than they might be better than somebody else.
As for what you said, I agree with you, not so much the spoken individual, but as a whole.
Yeah I would have to agree in that part that some artists put their works high enough to be fine art. Some can be justified to do so if it actually is that good of a quality to be fine art, but there should be a balance between the quantity that you need to pay for the art, and the quality you are expected to receive.
Such artists that have overblown egos that start off commissions really high, should take it down a notch before they come crashing down. Usually it's bound to happen when someone with so high of an ego becomes realized, and then goes down quite a lot and ends up where they started from. Except the fact that the people already have an idea with them, so it will be harder to bring the people back up to the state where they where so high on.

You can attach an abstract idea to any ordinary household object, call it art, convince someone to give it a good review and people will pay top dollar for cleaning out your attic. At least the artists here spend time and effort on what they sell and the commissions generally mean something to them.
I personally don’t want to pay too much for art which is why I dislike paying 16$ for music Cd’s in which the price is artificially inflated and usually not all worth it anyway.
The difficulty about that is showing that they are good enough artists to do such radical things, or to prove themselves beforehand of what their style is.
Usually bad artists don't have meaning behind their art.
Remember that the best con artists can make you believe anything they want you to believe.
Also, Sai wasn't very good with words, because he would only say a couple of words, he would be extremely insulting, and he insulted Sasuke in front of Sakura, whom she was in love with Sasuke, but Sasuke had left to find power in order to fufill his revenge against his brother, for the sake of himself, and the village that his brother had murdered.
Naruto also had bonds with Sasuke, and because they were both alone in the past, with Naruto being a monster as an outcast and a terror, and the village in which Sasuke no longer had.
So because Sai had insulted Sasuke for his search for power with the enemy of the country, Sakura made a very sincere smile, and then punched him hard in the face.
Sometimes you don't know when you really mean to smile or not, but later on in the story, because Sai had realized what his bonds and meaning was in his life to complete the last page of his drawing book, because the bonds that he had with his brother in his book (Not really his brother per se, but someone he had deep bonds with).
So he finally smiled to Naruto, for helping him realize what feelings meant.
(He was an artist, who drew untitled works, but also had a very secret book where it would show the experiences of his friend from on side if you read it from left to right, and then the enemies Sai fought from the right to the left, and in the middle it showed two blank pages.)
Okay, so my point being is that... I agree with you, emotions can be faked, but sometimes it's very apparant when you feel that someone is not lying to you, and you can have faith in them and their art. I guess... Yeah.
Also sometimes when an artist on FA posts their commission list as a part of another journal and they list 8 or more people, that’s assembly line work, it doesn’t seem to me that they can put much feeling into that many projects at once or even back to back.
Anyway, if I ever get that bad... (well, I'd be amazed, cause that would mean my art is actually good and not the shit I make now...) you have permission to yell at me and stalk me or whatever.
And yeah, this makes me wonder, for some reason, why I bothered opening commissions... My art sucks so bad I probably won't get any, so I should probably close that up now...
Anyway, there's my two cents on it... See if they still sell penny-candy... You might be able to buy some...
And I'm only yelling now because peope accept this bullcrap.
They waste all their money into commissions of the SAME FUCKING CHARACTER over and over, to collect a huge gallery from various artists to give others the false idea that they're popular and/or have connections.
I wonder if the artists even see taking commissions as anything more than a pure business? Personally, if I was a respected artist, I probably wouldn't take commissions at all. I draw for my own pleasure.
This always leaves me scratching my head in confusion.
Furry art isn't worth shit, let alone furry porn.
And I *do* agree with the commission thing, but that's more just because I've seen a lot of HORRIBLE pictures that, supposedly, somebody (including close, personal friends of mine) *paid* for. It's painful to see. XD
