Maybe We Can Bring Back the Light

I'm so excited today. I'm still a bit ill, but... Some subtleties in the air are stirring me. I want something amazing to happen. I want.. I want to dance.
But answer me this. A name has been popping into my head. The name "Pinion" has been ringing in my mind. Out of nowhere. Why? I can't seem to figure it out. Who is Pinion?
There are the embers of a fire that's gone out, but I can still feel the heat on my skin. This mess we're in, you and I... maybe you and I. We can still make it right.
Maybe we can bring back the light.

Pinion? Isn't that a part of a car designed to aid in steering?

That would be a rack and pinion steering system. The pinion is the gear which engages the rack.
