Latest Update on my Mom…

So, my mom’s still on the ventilator but her blood oxygen got up to 92%. The doctors say that the fluid filling her lungs must just be from how weak her lungs got from her years of smoking and her COPD. But she’s alert and getting the fluids drained.
So, now it’s basically up to my mom. I believe in her wholeheartedly, but there’s still a dark cloud of worry in my mind and heart. She’s 60+ and has been fighting so long. She’s not one to give up and I don’t think she’ll quit, so unless something unexpected happens, I’m optimistic she’ll be okay. It’s just a matter of how much longer she’ll be in the hospital at this point.

I'll hope for the best for you. This is always a scary time, and I've been there before. One always hopes for the best, and it's hard not to be scared, but it sounds like she's fighting hard to come back, and the doctors seem to know what they're doing. Good luck to her and you.

As someone with asthma/mild COPD it's scary shit sometimes. My grandmother has gone through similar scares (and lived a similar life as a longtime smoker). Wishing you and your mom the very best.
