I'm not, they've had a bloody decade and a half since E6 showed up and proved how useful tagging is. It's been a highly demanded feature for a very, very long time.

The worst is when trolls come posting gore/racism/illegal content. Even reported takes 30+ mins for them to get banned

Good luck with that. We've been waiting for over a decade. Might as well move to InkBunny, which not only has a blacklist, but allows user-submitted tag suggestions to fill in the gaps for "lazy" artists.

I like Itaku's take on art gallery and tag suggestion. Only issue is the user base is tiny compared to FA and FA ain't that massive.

I honestly haven't bothered looking, as it's a bit too social media-y for my taste. Plus it's apparently in competition with Mastodon? I'll check in a year or so to see how things are going then.

FA dev always been a decade behind. Then again I can't be mad because they're not making millions running this site. So I'm hopeful people with FA+ help push it along.

I would probably sub to FA+ if they had a roadmap and fund goal we could all see... if they ever did and it was successful I could see FA doing far better.

Sad but very true. FA+ if it was tied directly to new features with a clear map would be tempting considering the state of affairs with other media sites >_>

The lack of tags is frustrating

I mean I thought of a simply solution - add a 4th category when uploading that's not SFW/Mature/NSFW. Something like "Hard Kink Focused"

Then if it's Kink Focused it just puts a filter over the thumbnail of the picture so you can't see it without clicking on it.

It would be. Though sites like Itaku allow others to submit tag changes for approval. Could see this working if you could have approved taggers

I really like how e621 does it. It makes everyone use uniform tags and makes you tag what you see, not what’s implied.

So... while it works, its not perfect.

Seems most artists active on e621 are twitter ones.

I've had to sadly be move active on twitter just to catch content from artists that are gone from here.

Can be fixed with time and development. We (well not FA) have the technology.

Its what happens when 'dont kink shame me' becomes an enforceable rule.

If FA let's me just filter it out then we all good. People can enjoy what they enjoy. Though being forced to sift through some content only to question if people are into this or simply creating it to shock others is not fun.

Ngl a lot of it is a mental illness and deserves shaming, while some is just gross and weird. I’m all for shaming.

I sometimes think fa is kinda dead when I see only diapers and scat on the front page lmao where are all the cool artists. Would be cool if there'd be also something like "today's featured" like daily deviations years ago at deviantart while dA was still cool and all abt good art

The average users online is always in the 40,000+ range. So there are people online and checking the site.

And I agree. I wish there was some form of engagement from the admin to promote the people using this site. Hell I'd love if they just added a 'Retweet' type function so I could boost artists who may have low watcher count but are amazing.

Yess, retweet function would be amazing way to support small artists and today's featured by admin/community, there would be far much more engagement on the site I think and people WOULD care and WOULD love to check for new artists or draw pictures to actually be featured. I sometimes browse through main page to find new cool people to follow, but it's exhausting, bc there's a lot of gore and yikes stuff :(

I think the main driving factor is the fact that the world has changed A LOT over the last 5 years. I can tell you that inflation has changed how pricing works for commissions across the board but commissioners may not have had the luck of getting similar increase.

You can see the price changes by looking up old YCH's from like 5-10 years ago and see what SB's were even for big artists. Now the average can be anywhere from 2x to 10x that for everyday standard YCH's from artists.

So as inflation gets higher artists will need to charge more to cover their own expense but the pool of available commissioners will continue to get smaller.

It's very rare I come to FA these days with how busy life's been, but I'm hoping FA finally improves socially. May hard swap back to FA once Xitter is dead.
