Sorry for not replying to everyone's notes.
Shortly after posting my last journal things started to go down hill more rapidly for my step dad.
Last week I stayed at my parents off and on with my older siblings (we were rotating care) and things just progressed as they would.
My step dad voiced his concern earlier on that he didn't want his kids to see him like he was but we kind of ignored that and helped out the best we could until my mom had a dream.
Now before I continue I just want to say my family is on the spiritual side so we take signs in dreams and other things a bit more seriously. Please don't give me a hard time for this, this is just how we work ya know?
Anyway, my mom had a dream about her friend, who also passed from cancer, coming to her with my step dad. They both told her not to go to his funeral because of my step sister (only one I will call step cause I and everyone doesn't like her). They also told my mom not to be present when he passes and that I should go home and just rest because he didn't want me there to see it too. When my mom came out to tell us that we asked my step dad, who has been sedated since last Tuesday if mom should stay home instead of going to the funeral and he gave a very clear "uh huh" and when I asked if I should go home he gave a quieter "uh huh".
Sorry for all the details it's kind of helping me cope.
All of that happened Saturday and I only stopped by once yesterday to give my mom some stuff and everyone hugs. Then this morning I received the call that he passed.
I'm gonna need a minute with my family, and for me to help my sisters plan the funeral.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Its a lot that went down in a short time too it sounds like so take all the time to deal with this as you need, we can wait!
