Where am I in the backlog I've been posting from since like October 2022?
So, let's get the big one out of the way first. In terms of backlog, we have no backlog.
No backlog at all? Zero?
Not exactly, I have a much smaller backlog of stuff written since then, but it's considerably smaller. While I had hoped to have just as large a backlog ready for this moment, it didn't happen. The time ended up being more or a rest and recharge. Don't get me wrong, I've gotten some good stuff ready, but nothing is as far along as I had hoped.
What will I be posting next?
The immediate answer is nothing. I'm taking a break from uploading stories for a couple of months and will resume in October. The more interesting answer is GPIM Haywood. I know, a lot of you are eagerly and patiently waiting on its return. So look forward to that, I have a stand-alone story and 6 chapters of Haywood ready.
Why October?
Two reasons.
1-it gives me a chance to get the other projects where I want them to be, or closer to it.
2-Haywood has a Halloween chapter as the second one back, and with Halloween lining up on a Tuesday this year, it was too perfect to pass up.
Going forward
So, I like having a backlog to post from instead of posting the next Tuesday after I finish something. It lets me be more consistent, gives pieces a chance to sit so I can go back and revise if anything comes to mind, and it's just less stressful on me if I have a cushion. I know, I know, I shouldn't be stressing myself out to post for people for free here. But what you fail to consider is that I'm just naturally stressed; like a tiny, angry dog, my baseline stress isn't zero but 99...I'm mostly joking.
I plan to try and find a good balance for posting. Instead of backlogs 9 months long, to make smaller chunks of stories/chapters. The 6 chapters of Haywood ready being one such chunk. It's a nice little chunk that works well together as a group of chapters. It might make me less consistent, but should also keep me from huge gaps in story uploads.
On another point, to hopefully getting burned out on one series again, I'm also revising how I look at my projects. I'm looking at a "Big 3". GPIM being one of those current three. Aside from that, I'll also keep a series of other projects as secondary (Hunter's Son and Jock Flock fall here, sorry no progress yet). And, ultimately nothing is rigid, it just keeps me organized and I can say if I need to focus back on one of the Big 3 or if I'm chasing plot bunnies instead of working on anything from either list.
I don't know how successful I'll be a keeping to this, but that's how I'm going to try and operate from now on.
Feedback
I love comments on my stories, good, bad, or other. So don't hesitate to leave any. Sorry, shameless fish for comments.
More importantly, in the coming months I'll be asking for feedback and opinions on different things in my Discord server. Link in my bio and elsewhere, and if all else fails, note me for an invite. Some to help improve my stories and just opinions on how I can improve or best do some aspects of my stories, other purely for curiosity and won't change a thing. So if you want to be involved in that, join and join in, everyone is welcome.
What to look forward too
You didn't think I'd post this without sharing what's in store. Keep in mind, this isn't every idea I have or want to write. Just the ones I want to write sooner than later. And I'm liable to write stuff not on the list...
The Big 3
-GPIM Haywood - you all know what this is, and if not, you have a lot to discover
-Wild Ride - EDIT: Wild Ride is no longer a part of Werewolf Challenge canon. I think this is best for both settings.
-EtM (Wyatt's series) - Sorry, you'll have to wait till it's posted to learn anything more, I'm keeping this one close
Secondary Projects
-Hunter's Son
-Jock Flock
-Nerd's Jock
-Guidance
-Cocks Anonymous
-Countdown to Burstday
-Sheen
-Fillr
-Growing
-Udder-U
-GPIM side series
