Prototype 07 Ausf D Mark IX - Tomorrow, and extra data.
So, the previous Yoga poses allowed me to test her rig and allowed me to figure out what she is capable of. In the process I eliminated some superfluous bones, tweaked some limitations, fixed things here and there. I think she is good enough for release. Surely there will be several things to fix but testing every single one would take me forever. Mainly because I lack motivation and need to struggle to find any.
Think of it like in an RPG, Some actions requires Action points/power points/ Mana/Units of time. Etc.
When one is having fun in something said action requieres no... "action points" (or "AC" from now on). Same with things that you fully know that it will be useful.
As I mentioned in a previous journal I decided to resume with my Renamon project. I could say that all previous iterations (Ausf A-B - D Mark I to VIII) were driven by a desire of doing the best rig I can, and perhaps make a model which could be as good as others out there. Despite the fact that my Renamon it's SFW (while most popular ones out there are NSFW which is ok).
I could go on with past failures. But long story short: I was discouraged that my previous model had no success at all. And after seeing other's failures (people which had infinite more success than what I can imagine and still blame their followers for barely get a few hundreds of likes) I decided to retake the project. Do further tests and I found out that my own model was cumbersome in some areas.
Surely nobody remembers the Ausf B model, which was followed by a document which explained every single setting. Heck, even I don't remember what the document said!
Ausf D Mark VIII had a ton of "scale this for do this - Do this for that". After the hiatus I found myself trying to use the model I created and wondered "what the heck this is for?" Which I simplified as much as I could.
Talking about this I wonder. Why every single rigged model out there uses catrig for blender? I downloaded several characters for blender which uses catrig and I just can't frigging figure out what does what. And the funniest thing is that most models I found out there uses this, even Fiverr riggers says "I will use catrig with autoweight and I will charge you for this" Damn! Here I am, worrying about even the inner most vertix of my "hand painted" model and people out there charges money for such lousy thing...
I would flat out REFUSE to just carelessly use such automatic system, autoweight everything and charge for it!. If I would charge for something I would make SURE that I can account for every single thing I did, and fix everything I was pointed to.
