A Word About Audio Commissions and Wait Times
2 years ago
Hey all,
So anyone who's looked at my audio commissions or worked with me on complex commissions recently may notice that the wait time for longer commissions is, well, long.
I'm still contending with a day job for the moment and trying to do a combination of things for supporters on SubStar and Patreon as well as occasional just fun things for here and other places. So it means each commission takes longer than I want it to. And now I have a rather full queue.
I've thought about closing the submission form for a bit, but when I think about it, the people that would have to wait at the end of the queue now would then still have to wait for me to reopen. And I don't want to set up one of those situations where every X-amount-of-time I'm opening up the form for a day, then having a few people that have wanted something try to scramble to get a set of limited slots. So for the moment I'm going to keep letting people kind of claim a place in line, keep the Trello as visible as possible so folks know where they're at when they do claim a spot.
You'll see YCHs and Voice Doodles come out in between work on longer, complex commissions. Those just take a different sort of time and energy to complete where complex longer stuff requires a little more dedicated focus.
Everyone's been very patient and understanding, so I really appreciate that. And I still LOVE that a number of you want to commission me for this stuff. :) This is just me wanting to explain how I'll be handling the long audio commissions queue and why there's such a wait after putting in submissions on the form. I'll get to all of you, just going to take some time.
And for the few people wondering, when I reach a point where I really think I can do creative stuff for a living, I'll look at opening up writing commissions again too. At this exact moment, I've had so little time to write that I haven't even been able to do any real projects in that vein. But believe me, it's on my mind, and I want to get back to stories too.

Keep up the good work and absolutely prioritize your own self-care in between the things you have going on!
