FA is gatekeeping what "Aged up" actually means
2 years ago
Size difference is now pedophillia according to FA's new rules, and what's "Aged up" is now getting species locks by FA gatekeeping what can and can't be "aged up" despite "aged up" existing years before the rule was implemented!
Aged up means - the character is no longer a minor, either through context or appearance.
FA however thinks aged up means - the character is still a minor, regardless of through context but not appearance.
Back when the policy change came through, these rules didn't threaten anything. They do now, and what do they mean they didn't have enough staff the first time? Each clarification just made the situation worse.
So let me get this straight, based directly on my character's height, body type and proportions being too childlike, my submissions could potentialy be in violation? Despite her being 4 ft. and despite her being 26 since our birthdays are the same? December 25th, 1997? I could still be dealt the shiny ass sword on my work?
SO THAT'S SUPER GOOD AND ENTIRELY CLEAR, THANKS FA :)
Gee it's no wonder you guys constantly face DDoS attacks, it's probably from users who felt wronged in the past in some way.
Yaknow, it's pretty damn hard for FA admins to arbitrarily decide the characters in them are children no matter how you stretch your imagination.... Like, is a LV 18 riolu who is expressed in the description to BE 18 years old now null and void? Do they just see Riolu and immediately say that it's underage and not even bother to read the description of how the riolu's aged up?
Then there's the fact they're gatekeeping what species can be adults anymore.
This sucks, because a lot of FA artists are now under threat from a new rule that is draconic and could threaten already existing art. I used to think FA was a solid rock I wouldn't have to ever worry about getting nuked, but if this is how it's gonna be then it's just a landmine waiting to be stepped on at any point, like an fallout 4 escort mission. what if they implement a new rule that restricts more species? Are Imps going to suddenly be contested? I would strongly appreciate folks who wanna repost their works to adult image board sites, like e621for furry stuff, or rule34 for more human stuff. I mean, if they want, because there's no trust in FA anymore when they decide to age gate species of anthromorphic characters now. If anyone feels the need to step up for reform to be made your voices should obviously be heard.
This sucks, we've got artists like kaittycat who had 1k submissions across both of his pages and scraps, but due to FA's age gating and size diference gating, Kaittycat, in fear, thinks it's time to leave FA behind and move works to e621 just because e621's ruleset is less chaotic and more true to form than FA's ever will be. Heck, what if in 2025 FA's like "No more ABDL" "No more seizure inducing work" "No more [this fetish]" "We have decided to remove photography tagging from the search engine", all this could happen and more and it not make any sense to the common user, and we could possibly see more gatekeeping of "Aged Up" in the future with even more species being restricted.
FA's rulesets are getting frankly radicicolous. I thought this was a friendly community, not a kangaroo court.
Riolu, Eveelutions, Juddy Hopps, Impmon, Pikachu? These are the most popular things to fetishize that have been on FA for eons now, and now they're suddenly a problem? Way to alienate %99 of your artist base.
I just really hope they revert this... It's so accusatory and it could get a lot of artists into deep sh't simply for making Adult Shortstacks. Like midna is literally a princess, not some teen or kid, a princess! Is a restriction going to be placed on her imp form but not her adult form?
This just screams "Power mods can further abuse their powers" because the rule not only is too broad, but somehow also too strict, by adding species restrictions and gatekeeping EXACTLY what aged up actually means.
Just how far does this gatekeeping go? Guess there's only one way for users to find out.
