It's loginwalled. How do you know it's any good before signing up?

Before I got the code I had the impression is was a more streamlined version of twitter and when I actually got it I was relieved to not see many ads and blue checks on my timeline, its still a newer app compared to twitter so there's some things that needs some polishing but its pretty alright so far.
