Getting thoughts about patreon
Heya gamers
It's this discussion again though not sure I've talked or asked about it here. Am curious on what people's thoughts are on it, or if an alternative subscribestar.
Just to make it clear, I'll very not likely use it for early releases of art, since I find it a bit eh for artists to hide their content behind a paywall personally but that's just my personal thoughts, people do what they want to do.
Private discord access too might be a little messy since moderation calls get very messy when everyone's paid to be in there.
The only other reason would be if I at some point start on a larger project like a mini comic, or maybe use my game dev diploma for something useful for a fetish game someday. I'd be down to getting advice around that, as long as you're not trying to rope me into your project immediately, though I'd rather people talk to me in private about that seeing how decisive and heated people can get to even talking about coding languages and engines.
Either way I've laid out my thoughts about it, and I'm curious what folks might think in the comments or discord/tg.

Artists I've seen usually have multiple tiers depending on what they normally do, some offer icons, sketches, full body's (flat color), etc. Almost all of them also include a small donation tier for those who just wanna offer support and not get anything as well.
Occasionally they will do a slight discount for said art or also offer discounts on future commissions for supporting them as well.
It's honestly my preferred method of getting artwork since if I really enjoy an artist it makes things way simpler for me to subscribe to their Patreon, pay them up front (I always try and do at the start of the month), and during that month just send them the idea for what I want (or they reach out to me) and I get art.
Hope this gives ya some ideas on what you could do, am looking forward to seeing whatchya come up with if anything! nwn
