Oh man, last week I took the family down to Florida for our yearly Disney World vacation, and this year was just as epic.
First off, there had been reports of a hurricane traveling through the area, so that made things really tricky, afraid that we would get caught in the middle while driving. But thankfully it passed through before we got there and all we saw were a group of trees broken and snapped in half.
Second, with all the crazy news clips I've been seeing on YouTube, mainly the one where people were protesting Disney...I mean DISNEY for crying out loud, a part of me was worried that there would be people acting all crazy and beyond rude, but as always, things were the same as ever, everyone acting normal and friendly as can be. One of the interesting things I noticed while walking around were PRIDE theme logo painted on the walls. I really thought that was amazing how Disney is so supportive and open.
We managed to get on the new Star Wars ride: Rise of the Resistance, not just once but twice. We had to get there real early...like a half hour before the park opened because even by that point, the line was already 40 minutes long and after getting off it, the wait time had racked up 70 minutes. I only went on Star Tours once, though that was because I had a number of bags from buying stuff and they don't deliver to the front desk like they used to. At EPCOT we went on this new Ratatouille ride, it was short, but pretty cute how the cars you ride travel on their own assign path so sometimes you get a completely different view of what's happening. Then we went on their new ride, Guardians of the Galaxy Epic Rewind...and of my GOD...I cannot believe how wild that ride was. They say its a "family friendly" ride. But oh no...there was nothing family friendly about it. I will say that it was truly awesome and love how they play out like a space battle, but oh brother, crazy speed and sudden twist, turns and drops really did a number on me. They had me in the front car and instead of doing the common high rise drop, they slowly bring you up and position the tram to go backwards and then suddenly shoot you back like a rocket, and the one crazy thing is that the cars will turn at random sections so you could be facing the whole building at once. The last thing that I thought was rather cool is that they play music based off Peter Quill's playlist, though I'm not that sure which song they play because I thought for I was going to pass out highway through. This is one ride that I'm going ride just once per trip. This is the first real rollercoaster I've been on and I'm pretty sure it'll be the last.
There was something else I noticed, when people go to the different parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studio, and Animal Kingdom, people will certain shirt theme. When I went to Magic Kingdom you'd see people wearing outfits with Disney characters, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom you'd see people wearing more common shirts, though when I went to Hollywood Studio, everywhere you go, you'd see people wearing Star Wars theme outfit. It really shows who the real fans of the movie is and those who are just there for the fun of it.
Well as fun as everything was on the trip, I knew it couldn't last so now we're back and I have to get used to my normal flow of life.
Though I can't wait till our next trip!
