Interesting idea

Like TalonThrGryphon, I remember seeing this idea years ago among more artists. The first iteration I seen of it had a worse name on deviantart, calling it "art slave." Although the artists who offered it usually asked for a bunch more cash but like... several illustrations over a few months kind of thing. It certainly faded away by the time I started using FA. But I think it's a cool idea.

oh i heard of the term art slave, but isnt that what patreon is nowdays if you have a tier with an art reward, just the moneys is split up on a monthly basis haha :'D

Hmmm actually I guess one really could use patreon like that if they wanted to. Although intended designed use-case and whatever other jargin aside, patreon was as far as I'm aware, designed to be a tip jar to enable creators to pursue what they wanted to do whereas the art slave commission is exclusively commissions for the buyer(s)

yeah yeah I kno, just that one specific option to reward patrons with art with their own tier seems art slavey in a broad sense
