Good-Bye To A Dear Friend, Rascal
Today, we lost a wonderful family member: Our eldest dog, Rascal. Yesterday afternoon, his health took a drastic turn for the worst after seeming fine for most of the day. This morning, he was taken to the vet hospital, where he went quietly and peacefully…
I remember the day he first came into our lives, the pain still fresh from the lost of our previous dog before him. After an argument he had with a pole outside on the car port (and by argument, I mean the lovable doof rammed into it while exploring his new home), he immediately became a wonderfully addition to the family. He always like to cause trouble and be the ultimate terror of a dog, but he was also one of the sweetest and loving dogs you would ever have the pleasure to meet. Everyone who met him, loved him, and he loved them too. He was also very intelligent, despite calling him ‘our dumb butt’. He even helped me train Trip and Scout when the were still tiny puppies. He was almost like an actual father to them… Heck, the day we adopted them, Rascal was still able to chase them around the yard.
Even when I though I would lose him in 2021, due to a scare where his stomach needed to be pumped and we were afraid he wouldn’t survive the surgery, he managed to pull through and spend almost two more years with us. He even adjusted well to our new home when we finally moved and loved sitting outside on the back porch with mom.
But now he’s gone…
You’ll always be my bud-bud, Rascal. I know you’re in a better place now…
