Lastik got the Leviathan Trial done!

I'm a complete dumbo, I was wondering why I was dying so much more as a bard than with any other classes while playing solo. My gear disparity isn't that big, my skill usage isn't perfect but I know what to use and when.. then it dawned on me, unlike other classes my feet aren't actually glued to the ground. That did it
With THAT bit sorted in my head, I took a deep breath and queued for my 2nd trial and my first as a bard (the previous one I had done as a samurai, though I had leveled mostly as a bard). I had watched a vid beforehand so I knew more or less what to do. Trial started, did my dots, had my songs rolling, attacked the tail (physical ranged needs to attack this one), skedaddled away from the smash, worked on the ads and the orbs and was eyeing the shield generator but didn't need to do it as a caster got there in time. Everything went smoothly and I got my first commendation and it was as a bard no less!!
The FF14 community is really a far cry from the WoW one. Everyone was super supportive and cheering each other. Also for all the talk about DPS queue time it has been fairly short for me so far (like 5 minutes or so). Did get hit with the "party disbanded 'cause someone didn't confirm" once tho
Might stick with Bard 'till I start Heavensward I think. Kinda miffed I can't progress with my bard class quests 'till I do so but it is what it is.
I've always like rangers and I've always like support and using DoTs so it was a pleasant discovery that Bard had all 3 in a neat package... even if the transition from Archer to Bard is.. a bit of a stretch lol. I appreciate the effort tho. "Oh archers need to see a lot and because they see a lot they get emotional and start singing."... fam last I checked snipers need to be cool under pressure, I think the rationale was " A bow is kinda like an harp so let's make them spoony bards" and the writers just tried to make something dramatic out of that
Aight, gonna go get ready for work, woke up to a ton of group messages ending with "WE NEED TO CALL THE BOSS!!". Turns out my colleagues where in a tizzy 'cause they found a rat.

FA+

It's hella fun tho, can't wait to try Machinist and Dancer as well.
Watched a vid on Ramuh while I was getting ready for work, gonna do it tomorrow if all goes well. From what I gathered, avoid stacking with the lightning rings, if someones has terror move the ring to them, if you're tethered grab the orbs and kill the ads to avoid the party wipe attack.
Felt so fuzzy when I got a commendation lol, really wasn't expecting it
Sidenote: While doing the part where we recruit folks to join the new military branch of the Scions and listening to Alphinaud's speeches about a military force beholden to no nation, free to act anywhere and a "unified Eorza", all I could think was... "Fam.. aren't we just doing what the Empire is doing?"
Also plis tell me we get to bitchslap the sindicate fucko that made the Sultana cry, the smug douche who wants to control Carteneau.
Anywho, that cut me on some gaming time but I did press on the MSQ 'till we caught the Ivy and called in Momobryega (oh Urianger, you cad! ), who revealed her plan to get us through to Shiva. Since I saw on the MSQ list that one of the quests is called "In memory of Momobryega", I assume shit is gonna go sideways and Momo gonna pay the piper. 'Tis a shame 'cause I found the lass rather amusing.
Also can I just comment that when we apprehended the Ivy, Lady Yugiri commented that "You're leaping in strides in your training as a shinobi" or something to that extent. Dunno if the game detected that I had levels in Ninja despite doing the mission as a Bard, but it was a nice touch!
I haven't started the Crystal Tower quests yet no, and I keep seeing that it's going to be needed, but at the same time in game I haven't seen any reference to it again after having unlocked it? Dunno if those requirements were waved or if I simply haven't reached that point yet.
And yeah, I am seeing an increase in cutscenes lol
