Tiny Toons Looniversity....

Kinda forgot most of you probably don't follow my Twitter but yeah I am only now seeing these episodes and my 2 cents (on which I am not alone)...
1) High Shrill Voices. Like fingernails on a chalkboard. It's hard to listen to--except for Shirley's voice which is kinda cool.
2) "Why the *@&# are they siblings" -- that's a direct (censored) quote from the tweet I retweeted.
3) The creepy lower eyelid thing. I don't care for this animation style at all for the Tiny Toons universe. Reminds me of Gumball. The only time you'd typically EVER see a Loony Tune/Tiny Toon's lower eyelid is when they blinked.
Story-wise it's full of inconsistencies between the original series, while at the same time retaining other elements faithfully, so it's horribly conflicted for us old timer fans. But, it is an interesting take on the actual lives of the students and not just their class time/lessons.
I feel it's more of an obligation to watch the series than something to watch for fun. Need to see how weird weird gets.

FA+

Our entertainment options during that period of history were limited.
I think the format of following the same five main characters with full episode plots isn't going to be as interesting as having two to four segments per episode with a wide range of characters. Not going to write it off this early, but I hope it gets better.
Addressing your feedback:
1. The voices are definitely different, but I can understand that. Charlie Adler, Tress MacNeille, and Kath Soucie may have been otherwise engaged and could not fill their old roles. Joe Alaskey and Don Messick passed away some time ago. The actress currently playing Fifi does a good job, as far as I can tell.
2. I share your and Tom Ruegger's assessment: Reframing Buster and Babs as siblings was not a good idea, given the shipping that occurred in the original series.
3. Thanks for articulating the issue with the eyes. The lower eyelid style makes the eyes seem disconnected somehow from the characters' faces. It's especially more jarring for characters like Fifi who have more pronounced muzzles.
I will give credit where it's due: This reboot is landing better for me than the one for ANIMANIACS.
