Waking up to MASSIVE debt [Commission me]

💜💜💜 This morning the Canadian government sent me a mail through the CRA website. Basically I have a debt of 20k to pay them now.
They claim I was not eligible for the covid support payments I received for a full year time period and want me to repay it in full. Now of course I don't have that kinda money, it's an insane amount of money. My student loans were cheaper lmao. I called them about it n they told me 'well its not that much monthly' basically. Which hard disagree, if I wasn't still living out of my mothers house I wouldn't have a shot in hell of paying them any part of it.
Regardless I had already sent them paperwork that they asked for to show my income from that time period and show why I needed those payments, they reviewed them and said that they don't agree. So basically I can't do anything about it. Sorry I needed money to survive during a time when businesses in my already shitty job market town, was hiring even less cause covid was in full swing ig?
To my understanding I am not the only person they decided to shove this on, they're basically trying to recoup as much losses from supporting the people of this country during a pandemic as they can. Definitely scummy vibes from the government.
Now they have given me a couple years to pay back 20,000 dollars. LESS time then they give you to repay a student loan btw, which normally is 10 years.
Long story short, I have commissions and YCHs open. Please support me.
