Story makers and enjoyers, a question + poll

Hello! So I've taken quite a break from writing stories, but I believe I've gotten back the motivation to work on it a bit. I'm finishing up the Epilogue for Whatever it Takes, then I have another idea already that I look forward to writing.
However I'm left with a decision on whether or not I should do things simple or attempt something new. While I love writing stories, there was a particular satisfaction in enhancing them with images and sound effects, music, and more... however the effort required is obviously a lot more. Perhaps it's vanity or maybe it's normal for authors/artists to seek out praise and attention for the work they make but my motivation for creation is significantly bolstered by interaction, comments, or even just view count. If a lot of effort goes into a project and it garners little reception, I don't feel a drive to make that again.
The long and short of it is this-
What type of story format do you enjoy? Here is a poll to let me know, and depending on the result, I'll likely adjust what kind of story format I use. Naturally there will always be simple text only stories though.

I just recently discovered your FA page and is great stories. I personally believe that plain ole text is just fine for the vast majority of most things, but that could be just me.
