I can't always guarantee that. I can never get it to give Gideon his hair parted down the middle, if I get any at all.

Clothing from one image to the next is also unreliable.

Then it often mixes up characters and what they are supposed to be doing.

But heck, it's a LOT better than they were doing even a year ago.

And don't count fingers.

It seems that with most AIs you have to be very specific. A picture is literally worth a thousand words.

Revisiting this, since my husband wants to try the program--just how detailed a description did you have to enter to get a fully-realized illustration, and not just a portrait against a white background?

Give it a setting: In a tavern, at a fair, etc.

OK. I used the word "arena" and got a pretty nice painting of a sort-of-Kathy-Grrsn hyena in armor with a sword.

Work with it. You'll learn the language.

I wasn't sure how long a description could be. And oddly, the word "cuddling" triggered a warning page for "potentially inappropriate content" before it actually coughed up a very bland but pretty picture of Kathy and Fred on the Ferris wheel at a carnival.

Some of those images look like they would do well in your story.

There's a lot of work that goes into getting it to give you the image you want, I'll give you that. I don't think AI will ever be at a point where it actually replaces real artists.

I concur. It will get to the point where it will be a wonderful tool, however.
