Spent about forty minutes just finding names for the side characters in Moon-Strider.
Debating chapter order and whos POV itll be from. Also debating what species get to be sentient and the cultures they have etc.
I think something whats appealing to me, beyond being able to world build, is exploring a story with an actual narrative. As much as I do enjoy writing sex scenes and there will some good ones in this, when theres nothing to a story but sex, I worry a little that Im repeating myself and not doing anything original. Which is why I think I had writers block when Im came to my older characters and why Ive found the long form story telling more interesting.
Just a random thought I had.
Also Moon-Strider's first chapter is incredibly fun and just a bit grim.
