What's your comfort game?

So, I've rambled here relatively recently about how I've been playing a tonne of Dwarf Fortress. So much so that I think since my last journal talking about it I've put almost 100 more hours into the game. But also, in moments where I haven't felt like I've had the time to lose several hours of my day to the intoxicating glee of DF, I've returned to another game that I've realised is becoming a 'comfort game' for me, in that it's something I can just log into for half an hour or so, doodle around with, then set down again feeling happier than before.
That game is Monster Hunter: Rise. I was something of a late adopter of the game, only picking up the base game when Sunbreak released on PC, then picking up the DLC when I'd gotten through the base game's content. But now? Gosh I find this game so comfy. Now that my gear's pretty heavily decked out and I have customised sets tailored to basically every monster, I can turn it on and leap into a multiplayer session, and be sure that I'll have a blast whether we're fighting a Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax or a Kulu Ya Ku.
What about y'all? Do any of you have any comfort games you turn to when you just want to chill and be certain that you're gonna have a good time, and what are they?
Also, if anyone else here played a bunch of MHR or still does, who's your fave monster to fight and what's your weapon of choice? In World I mained hammer, so in MHR I decided to go to the other end of the spectrum and went Dual Blades, and I love zipping around and dodging the monster's attacks so muuuuch. XD As for fave monster to fight, lately I've really been digging the edgelord that is Chaotic Gore Magala, but if we're talking monsters from any stage of the game, I will never turn down the chance to fight a Pukei pukei. :o

FA+

I played MHW a ton when it first came out on console, but fell out of playing after awhile. I loved using the bow, and had great fun soloing critters and playing with friends. I tried to get into MHR, but just couldn’t find enough time to really get into it.
I think WoW. Friend hyped me back and to be fair I like it. I can login, do daily quests, some world quests, logout and just forget, not stressing about stupid teammates in 2042 (it's a good game, they repair it from season 3) or repeating mission for the third time in Front mission.
Fav Monster in Rise: Malzeno
Fav weapon/s: Charge Blade and Hunting Horn.
Based on the Queen of Mystery's book of the same name, you play as not one, but two detectives: the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and Joanna Locke, an American cop investigating the kidnapping and murder of Daisy Armstrong.
Set in the year 2023, Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express expands the plot of the original novel as you interrogate suspects and gather evidence to solve the murder of Cassetti.
P.S. Having read the book and watched the films, I prefer the 1974 adaptation starring the late Albert Finney.
Dissida NT is built for Arcades and much of the player features were removed in favor of that. Instead of a list of six moves. One by pushing X/Square then two combos with up+X/Square or down+X/Square. And then B/Circle, down+B/Circle, up+B/Circle. There are only two attack prompts. B/Circle and X/Square. They tried to supplement with minor boosts, like an attack boost, recovery, and something else. That are activated with the additional buttons on a controller/arcade setup. Also seemed to have removed finishers and ExBursts. I'm sure plenty find it fun. Just doesn't hit the same for me. Especially with some characters like Lightning and Cecil. Those character had special abilities that allowed them to change and switch between phases related to their games worlds. Lightning from FF13 with Paradigms and Cecil with his paladin and dark knight. Lightning changing between a magic base and a commando or sword wielding base. Her last I cannot remember but I think it was recovery. Cecil's paladin was magic and aerial based while his dark knight was might and close quarters blade.
I miss it.
But I certainly do revisit both versions of resident evil 2 a lot.
Heck resident evil in general may be my favorite series and as consiquense several of the games are kinda a comfort game.
So it’s horror is a kinda thrill.
I did pay a bit of Monster Hunter Generations. I went with the great sword and treated the game like how I play Dark Souls. Mostly blocked till I got a good opening. I don't remember much about the monsters. All I remember is deviljo, the moutain looking one (ended up googleing it, it's Duramboros), and one of the crossover monsters that appears in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.
And yeah, the daily cycle of Stardew definitely plays a big role in its cosy/relaxing tone.
I used to play Rimworld with blatant cheating enabled and the Pawnmorpher mod, just to turn people into animals and treat them with no dignity while feeding them mind-go-away pills. >_>
Thrown on the tunes and wander the waste with my big iron. Taking care of raiders and legion scum.
Costume Quest and Costume Quest 2.
Both are silly rpg's with turn-based combat, highly reminiscent of Earthbound. You play a group of kids on Halloween who battle an actual goblin invasion by transforming the different costumes they wear into actual personas.
Supposedly the concept was originally pitched to Disney as a movie but when they told her no the creative director took it to a video game company instead.
Anyhow both games are a little on the easy side but are silly, fun and engaging for the amount of content they offer.
I also will semi-routinely have my captains or overlords fight in the Arena's to clear out orcs I don't want with bad weaknesses in the hopes that their spawned opponent will be of superior quality, and recruitable.
Also if you do start playing again, you should add me to a friend list or something so I can siege your forts and you can siege mine.
And in Monster Hunter, I use sword and shield and my favorite monster is Rathalos or Nargacuga!
Also yeah, Terraria's been a major thing in my gaming life for over a decade at this point. In my personal playtime, on Twitch, with friends, the works. Pretty wild stuff.
It's the game I always go to when I don't know what to do or feeling like just shutting off from the world for a while. I can just switch off, put any music I want on, and zone out. Especially better on casual more or custom tracks so I don't have to worry about lives or bailing.
As for Monster Hunter, I have two modes, Dual Blades or Gunlance. Really depends on the monster I'm fighting. Favorite fight is probably Amatsu just because it feels so epic
And lately my guilty pleasure has been Disney Speedstorm. It's disturbingly satisfying to have Donald Duck slamming other Disney characters' vehicles into the wall with a simple flick of the right thumbstick. (I actually raced against a player named Jeeves the other night and did a double-take!)
On the phone, I like to play Mighty Doom. If I don't feel like trying to play the hardest level on there, I go for an easier one, and since my character is pretty high level, he just mows through everybody and it's fun to watch
