Banking Woes at the 🏧
Short story long, went to the bank last night to pay my Credit Card bill via its 🏧 machine, which I've done like a thousand times.
I insert my card, punch in my PIN number and follow the steps to pay my Credit Card.
To my surprise, not only was the transaction declined, but the 🏧 machine kept my card.
I was shocked at first, thinking that it was some kind of error with the 🏧 machine, and then I started to wonder if my card was being skimmed. I check the entry port on the 🏧 machine but saw no such skimming device. So, a bit relieved but now annoyed, I immediately contact the bank's 24 hour call centre and explain to them what just happened. The nice lady on the other end said there's nothing that can be done to retrieve my card as it's already after hours, that the bank will have to cancel my credit card as it's standard procedure and that it'll take 10 to 12 business days before i can receive a new one.
To say the very least, I was now mad as I didn't understand why their 🏧 machine "ate" my card. I explained to her that the card wasn't expired, and that I had money in my account as I had used my Credit Card the other day to pay for a transaction, which was successful. I even went on to tell her that I am cashless, as in I have very little cash on me and that I use my Credit Card almost daily to pay for all my transactions.
Again, she was very apologetic, and assured me that she'll escalate my case to her supervisor, see what can be done and that they'll call me later today.
So, I still have to pay my Credit Card and as I don't have online banking for it, I'm obligated now to line up and pay it over the counter.
This should be fun. 😑

In any case I have written a very, strong-worded email to their Customer Centre, expression my annoyance with this entire ordeal.
