I know the feeling, I feel the exact same way whenever I post anything anywhere. Almost nobody ever responds to anything I post (very rarely I'll get a response, but not often), unless I'm posting a reply to them on something they posted (or it's on Twitter or BlueSky and I mention them). So yeah, I haven't seen the point in posting anything anymore.

I used to try to post update journals, but as I was basically posting want ads in a ghost town I stopped.

Yeah this is a problem the niche areas of the internet seem to have. Lack of curiosity and compassion mean people wouldn't engage as often with things to begin with, let alone trying to gain following or attention outside of the viewers' personal needs and interests. I chalk it up to being selfish lovers socially, heh. Profile individualism means it's hard to leave your own profile zone for someone else's because the users want others to approach them and their profiles first. Reciprocation of attention is difficult if we're all standing at our own mailboxes waiting for someone else to make the first move.

Is this telling me to be a proliferate attention whore on social media? Sure, but it fits my needs and I'm respectful about it so hopefully it'll help. o~o

I've noticed that, yeah. And yet no matter how often I comment on other people's things, I hardly ever get anything on mine. It's almost like they're attention black holes, sucking in all the attention they can but letting none escape.

And I hope it helps, too! You're an awesome person, and deserve more commissions and attention for your art. Too bad you don't have a BlueSky, or I'd follow you there.

I would love to branch out on websites but for now it's concerning to know that I returned during a point where artists are switching to BlueSky, something I'm nearly illiterate in. I worry that I'll be waiting for a long time for acceptance or a referral code ;-;
