I hope you've been making payments. You're going to need it to cover the increase in cost of materials and construction due to inflation over those seven years. I'm pretty sure they can't build your suit today for the price they quoted you in 2016. :-D
Let me explain though something you guys usually should be virtued about and that is patience...Im also going to explain both ways of the business just so people can give an indication that were actually having both sides justified:
My recent comment contains an email that I sent to the entity. It describes a timeframe, which Shawskunk had mentioned already -> 1 year.
Now that can actually change depending on how many customers the entity gets. If the entity has 50+ customers, theres gonna be a line.
Just like any commission business. How do I know this?
Ive done it multiple times with my artist inukuroo. I waited, but with that waiting got me my art in usually less than a week (shes one of the fastest artists ive ever seen, about as fast as my sister, who does the same type of art, just not furries).
But lets contrast as to how * my* business works. Lets show the differences. I directly sell my music on furaffinity exactly like bandcamp. Its not like a traditional model like I am describing. I sell tracks based on what *I* make, you pay it and you own it instantly.
Going back to emerson's ordeal:
if something like that went back 7 years that is a pretty big line. And not warning your customers about what happened within that time frame will present red flags.
7 years = artists beware. And based on the comments, I would highly recommend filing for fraud if the person has made you wait *that long*. Holy fucking shit.
People who pile up their own queues are usually the ones who give excuses, but when really theyre probably gaming or doing some other type of thing not really focused on doing your art *you paid for*. Sigh.
"Hello Scribble the Fox. this is Yalek The Lembine, an otherkin.
There is currently a friend of mine who has been waiting on the *7* year mark for a collie fur suit.
His name is Emerson Collie. He already paid you for a suit in full in those 7 years, and never got one.
I understand your business is tailored to fursuits, and those take time. But 7 years of a waiting time kinda invalidates your website's slogan (excellence in character and costume design), and the amount of time *it actually* takes to make one.
Now, I dont know how many customers you get, or even if they have to wait a LOT longer than usual, I dont know, especially since those materials take a long time to get made.
I would highly recommend you start making his suit, as hes waited 7 years for it. Thats a pretty long time.
Here is the recent furaffinity journal entry for it:

Happy Holidays Emerson!
Been doing a lot of VRChat lately, but I haven't moved on from fursuiting, no.
I plan to suit again with new suits and a V2 of Emerson at some point in time..
