1984 was not meant to be used as an instruction manual.
I mean. It's not exactly a holiday is it?
You work your arse off for the sake of one day and you're exhausted by the time you get there. It's just over a week away and I'm tired out already. If it was a holiday, you'd be relaxing. Makes no sense at all.

Way back when stores were closed from Christmas Eve save a select few and Boxing day(day after Christmas).
