I look forward to seeing your questions, remarks, so on and so forth. Remember to be kind and respectful to each other, alright? This is s'posed to be a fun thingy!

... a lot of "I" countries, aren't there?
Oaks are my favorite trees. Their roots dig deep, their trunks are firm; they're a source of food and protection for animals and other beasts in need; their branches are spread wide in an accepting embrace; and as for the stone, I wanted to reflect the roots anchored onto something firm and unyielding.
Since I can't go out and walk everywhere due to my disability, I let Oakstone walk where I wish, and interact with others, and be a source of happiness and support and kindness for others. His personality is mine, with a few idealizations added in. And since creating him, he's branched out into other forms as well, such as a gryphon, a bull, and eventually others :)
I know its not the same as your situation but I know what its like being stuck in a place and not being able to do the things you want to.
Thank you for sharing yourself with us. Really do love hearing about this stuff :)
As a writer, would you personally prefer silence or rather have 'noise' (tv series, music or podcast, etc.) around you while working on your projects?
Whether or not you'd like to listen to music while working on projects, what music do you prefer listening to in general?
Honestly, I gotta have some noise. Music. Something with a beat and a rhythm. I can't have anything play with lyrics or words, so movies are out unfortunately. I don't have an inner dialog to work with; my thoughts come about mainly as emotion and color splashes in my head, so to have anything with words in it playing while I'm struggling to come up with the words necessary to describe what I'm feeling/seeing just monkey wrenches the whole thing. But it's gotta be something thumping.
So to write, I normally listen to something that elicits the emotion I'm trying to describe in the scene. I use a lot of lo-fi and techno/synthwave to get those feels. My preferred listening is prog rock/industrial/lyrically intricate and descriptive music. Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, etc. But eh, sometimes I'm in the mood for Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, and run a playlist with them. All depends on the mood I'm in, and more so the mood I want to feel at the time :)
Fascinating to hear how music can influence the creative process in others as well. How certain lyrics or beats can help one to find/feel/see the words they need (or lines when it comes to art). Sounds like you're listening to a great range of different musicians and/or genres, depending on the mood. I think I'm in the same boat when it comes to listening to certain music at a specific moment.
Thank you for the insightful reply!
