Back when I was like 7 years old or something I was trying to watch this on TV because I was REALLY invested, but it was running into 11 PM and it's the latest I'd ever stayed up before, and I remember never feeling that tired before in my life. I was practically hallucinating my own additions to the movie. My dad was nearby letting me watch it. Great memory. I tried watching it again in my late 20s and couldn't get into it at all. Haha.

it is a weird movie and completely unfinished so there's a lot of bad editing and then the climax simply doesn't exist, they just do what animation they managed to finish and threw together a bunch of cuts and it's... yeah.

It's a treasured childhood movie though. Plus, I love the mizzards.

Ah, yes. One of Nostalgia Critic’s most hated movies he has ever seen. I really wonder why this movie turned out the way it is. There had to have been some sort of production nightmare that caused this movie to turn out the way it is. I have to ask, do you think Nostalgia Critic is right to put this movie on his Top 11 Worst Movies He Has Ever Reviewed, or do you believe that there are far worse movies out there?

Also, I’m actually quite surprised you managed to find a decent quality upload to this movie for free to watch on YouTube.

Oh it deserves all the razzing, the editing is awful, the story is barebones, though the characters are likable and some neat designs, the music is great and some scenes are well done and a lot of fun. I believe they just ran out of budget and slapped together what they had to put something out and... here's what we got, like the editing is very slapdash. So I definitely don't disparage anyone for not liking it or thinking it's a mess, it is indeed a huge mess.

For what it's worth though, yeah I think there's worse movies. This is clearly unfinished but what there is weird and enjoyable, I love the alternate dimension concept and there's some neat ideas. So I'd say the execution has heart but heart can't carry a film when they couldn't finish even finish the actual climatic scene. Though even if they'd had a better budget and finished it'd still be kind of a sloppy movie, but I think it would've been better.

And yeah it's been floating around on youtube for ages ^^ it's funny that this is actually the apparent official Felix the Cat channel to post it. I'm guessing whoever had the rights to the film is long passed so it's just whoever currently owns the character. Dunno though! But yeah it's worth a watch if nothing else for some of the fun designs like the Mizzards and I like the Duke as a villain

I think I was 4 when I saw this movie. But I only saw or remember the end of it.

Love this weird movie to bits. Rented it all the time from Blockbuster back in the early 90s.

I was fortunate and my mom got it on VHS for me. No idea what happened to the tape, but yeah I've loved it since I was a wee thing

Another weird movie of this kind I like is Freddie as F.R.O.7., which is about a magic talking anthro French frog in a world of humans who has save all of Britain's national landmarks from an evil snake cult. I dunno what they were one when they made it but dang.

For me the other big childhood movie that stuck with me was Secret of Nimh. Which is funny because my mom had instead intended to get us a Rocky and Bullwinkle movie, which was what the cover said but inside was Nimh. We had no idea what SoN was, she took it back and they gave it to her for free and the movie she intended to buy (which was just a couple rocky and bullwinkle episodes, nothing special) But yeah, fell in love with Nimh

The Secret of NIMH is a classic to be sure, and one I definitely watched a lot as a kid, but beyond liking the scene with the spider (because at the time I liked creepy crawlies and such), it didn't leave as much of an impact on me as other animated films. I'm sorry to say very few of Don Bluth's films did, except for possibly An American Tail and The Land Before Time. I think Rock-A-Doodle was the one I watched the most, but it still never really left much impact on me. And as for Freddie as F.R.O.7., I sadly never saw it as a kid, only recently as an adult, but it was so weird I couldn't help but love it instantly (which is the opposite reaction of most people, which is to despise it instantly; I've found basically no good reviews of it). I only brought it up in the context of strange animated movies, heh.

Going through the comments im wondering what adult would be letting their child watch this movie.

And for a brief second (because i wonder about these things in a curiosity way) wondered if this was a parallel dimension of the movie I was thinking about.

Anyway, some lucidity made its way to my brain and I realized I was thinking about the movie "Fritz the cat".

Definitely not the same thing.

With that, I had never seen Felix - so I am imbibing now.

Oh yes, VERY different experience, Fritz. Felix, for one, was never murdered with an ice pick to the brain.
