Happy New Year! Spicy Level Up?
a year ago
Hi folks! Welcome to 2024! 2023 was... in a word, exhausting. I had some great times I hope to remember for the rest of my life. And Slightly Damned Book Three was funded with a huge outpouring of support! But I also got run ragged by stress and big bills. Here's hoping 2024 is kinder to us all.
I haven't been able to update Slightly Damned's main comic recently due to my work on Book Three. Everything is coming along nicely, though. I'm almost done drawing all the bonus art for the back of the book and proofreading the first draft!
Also, a word about Spicy Stuff: I wrote a little thread on X-Twitter with a poll to ask people how they felt about the "spicy level" of my "spicy art" possibly increasing. Since one of the options is "keeping it to FurAffinity", I figured I would post about it here, too. https://twitter.com/sdamned/status/.....25672472789302

I would recommend keeping it here, really. Mostly because TwatX has some kind of... effect... on people. Seen it through a lot of artists' reactions to posting on there, it's like they get gaslit by constant bombardment of unsolicited opinion.
Of course you know you have my support regardless, even if it doesn't count for much! ^<^;;
I don't use Twitter or other social media, so I'd miss anything not posted here or on a comic site.
And don't worry, despite all its problems, FA somehow became my favorite art site because of its simplicity. If I feel something is worth uploading, it'll probably make its way here.
It's easy for me to feel really self-conscious about this stuff and work myself into an anxious spiral. Your words of support put me at ease, so thank you!
And I hope this year is a kinder to you and your wallet!!
I’ll definitely put in my vote once I get home.
I won’t be voting as it won’t let me without a Twitter/X account and I have no intention of getting one at this point.
But I'm a rather simple person with a very limited friend base, and that suits me fine.
Maybe I miss out on stuff, but I don't know what I'm missing out on, so I'm fine with that.
Do you have a Discord Channel? A lot of creators seem to be getting them these days. As its a good way to communicate to followers, and you have a lot of control over who's allowed in the channel. Better for a fan community
I wouldn't blame you if you don't bother getting one though. The list of apps and sites creators need to use these days seem to be getting longer and longer.
However, I do stream 3 times a week on Twitch, and that has been the most comfortable way for me to interact with people who like my art in real time. I think it's because the streams begin and end when I want them to. Everyone is fun and chill! Here's the link if you're interested: http://twitch.tv/hyenachu
