My Bearded Dragon has passed away...

I just wanted to let you all know that Ash, my Bearded Dragon has passed away. Me and my mum took him to the vets to get him checked out because he was losing a lot of weight. It turned out that he had cancer and he was in pain. The only thing we could do for him was to put him to sleep...
It was so painful seeing him getting put to sleep... I keep getting told that I did the right thing but it still hurts and brakes my heart... He was such a sweet little soul who loved cuddles and loved to run around. He was my best buddy who was always here to put a smile on my face. And now he's no longer with us... It's going to be a while for me to recover. So much has been going on already that has been dragging me down. Now my heart is broken from the lose of my little boy...
I love you Ash... I'm going to miss you always...

My uncle had a pet komodo dragon that we all loved. He was very docile and friendly, never even opened his mouth around other people (they have extremely toxic spit). He passed away from an injury a few years ago that ended up getting infected.
Believe me, I know how it feels. Just hold your pet's memory (in your case, hold Ash's memory) close and remember the good times. I'm a firm believer that so long as you remember them, no one is ever truly gone.
