Mark Merlino hospitalized with stroke

This came across my Facebook feed.
For the (few) of you who don't know, Mark Merlino and his spouse Rod O'Riley are arguably two of the most notable founders of furry fandom. We wouldn't have cons, message boards, etc, etc (and their famous parties) without them:
Not sure if there's a fund for him (or if he needs one) but community emotional support would greatly help the household. Send a card if you can.

The couple of weeks since just before Christmas have been tumultuous. The current situation is hard to keep track of even. "There is too much — let me sum up." Mark Merlino (Sy Sable) has had another, larger stroke. This time the scans found bleeding inside the brain. Supposedly not a great deal of damage, say the doctors, but it was bleeding. They managed to get that stopped, but now he's having overall circulation problems in the brain, and he's very slow and confused. He is resting for observation in the ICU at the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital on Euclid. If people wish to send get-well cards, pleased do so c/o the Prancing Skiltaire address.

At this point, if people want to go and visit Sy in the hospital, I think it's okay. Maximum of 2 visitors at a time. Don't expect much. You might get a word, a sentence, or a blank stare. He likes to laugh though. Be gentle. [ Mark Merlino , Room #230, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital on Euclid.]
Rod's put together a GoFundMe to help them get the money they need to cover his rehab and other expenses. Probably a good idea to post a fresh thread here to get the word out:
