Welcome to 2024! This journal's got some of my musings about my plans and ideas for the year and details about the upcoming year of character interaction YCHs. Have a look below!
Monthly Character Interaction YCHs Return!
I don't know that it's been long enough without one that I can really announce that these are 'back' or have 'returned', but I have no plans to stop doing the character interaction YCHs. I truly enjoy
For those of you new here, a quick rundown: once a month, I'll open up a single slot YCH focused on one of your characters and one of mine interacting somehow. If you're interested, you comment on it and toss me a reference/image of your character, and I pick my favourite after about a week or so. Themes will range from SFW stuff like sparring, cooking, and sports... to very NSFW stuff. Depending on the scenario, the YCH may feature a written story, alternate versions... or both! Sometimes I'll be looking for specific body types or genders and sometimes it'll be open to any character.
I already have two YCH planned out and ready to go for this month and next, here's a preview:
January 26 - NSFW, short story + 2 alternates - Nimah's on the hunt for a big, muscular male character to have some fun with, and she wants it rough! She can shapeshift her figure (within reason) to suit your tastes, so teach this curvy, pervy kitty a few lessons and have your way with her!
February 23 - SFW, any character - Time to hit the slopes with your snowboarding bunny buddy for the day: Malea! With your camera / selfie stick in hand, carve through the terrain park and grab the perfect aerial action photo of the two of you racing to the bottom. You'll be able to fully customize your outfit and gear to ensure you're shredding in style!

What Else I'm Working On This Year / Musings
Rambling ahead.
As you've probably figured out, all of my characters generally are tied to an elemental type. I'd like to expand my roster of characters to include one of each major element or magic type, to a total of 8 or 9 total. I also want to work on developing characters that have some varied body types to continue to expand my comfort zone and be able to draw a wider array of characters. Currently, my roster includes:
-Wind - Malea, Short/Average Height, Athletic Build, Female
-Water - Nimah, Average Height, Curvy Figure, Female (can shapeshift)
-Fire - Atheress, Tall Height, Muscular Build, Female / Very Muscular Build, Hermaphrodite (transformed)
-Earth - Aarvid, Short Height, Muscular Build, Male
(In Progress)
-Dark - Kozama - Average Height, Slim Build, Male
I figure the other elements I'd definitely like to create characters for are Ice, Lightning and Light. There are other magic types that could work as well, such as Arcane or Plant/Life, but those are currently less of a priority.
For Ice, I've been concepting a large, heavy polar bear character, built like a tank, extremely big and strong, but without super defined muscles. Lots of thick fur and flesh. Definitely need some practice here, I certainly like defining muscles a lot so it's tough to break that habit when drawing a huge character like that.
Lightning... before I came to Fur Affinity I had worked on a gecko character that had a mechanical arm. I started out calling him Jazz, re-named him to Salerek and tried to change the mechanical part of him into plant life. I never drew him again after that, the plant-life aspect I just didn't find that interesting. The basic idea of a gecko or lizard character with some kind of unique arm remains interesting to me though, so I'm now thinking about how I'd flavour that idea with a lightning element. Big ol' work in progress right here.
A light element character is the idea I've made the least progress on. Not a clue as to what species or gender I'd want, but the flavor of light powers I'd probably use is more along the lines of focusing the power of the sun, and less about 'holy' or 'angelic' powers. Really don't have too much to say here just yet.
Raffles, Fanart, Etc.
Not too much new to say here, and that's kind of the point. I'm liking how the Fanart and voting is going, offering a chance each time for a smaller sketch prize via raffle. That will continue, with a new vote / sketch raffle occurring shortly after the previous fanart is complete.
Watcher Raffles will continue, I think every 100 watchers or so. I think these might be a good place to offer character sheets as big prizes, with 1 or 2 sketches as smaller prizes.
That's a wrap for now. Again, if you have feedback or an idea for a future YCH or fanart, just toss a comment at me and you might see it show up sometime down the road.

Also I'd like to throw in some ideas, maybe more size potions shenanigans or a weight lifting/strength competition with Atheress?
I'm excited to see what art you'll create this year :3
I'd like to do a couple Atheress pieces at least, maybe a wrestling or fighting theme...
I'm certain Nimah will be goofing around with more potions soon, not to worry.
And I think the arm idea is pretty good... Why not a mechanical arm that conducts electricity to go with the theme of his power?
I'd like to suggest a Valentine's Day theme... It's probably too late, but you never know if you're interested.
Easter's a basic theme. Malea will love it, won't she? =P (needless to say, I don't think she'll be eating chocolate eggs, but some other kind of egg with a hot thick liquid inside).
I'd also love to see a fighting theme. Magical? We'd have to see the winner, if the theme is ever realized, to see if there's a way to adapt it to non-magical characters.
I'll stop there with my ideas, I've already said a lot, I don't want to overwhelm you XD
As for my participation, you know that since the YCH Traveler any opportunity to put Malea and I together is a good one, so I'll be taking part in the February YCH with Hueli.
On second thought... Éli could too, as I've already done some art in the mountains skiing with her, if you're ever more tempted to stage your cute bunny with a big muscular tigress. ANYWAY! We'll see in a couple of months^^

Malea will feature in April for Easter, certainly. I'd like to do a few fighting YCH for sure, and non-magical characters are always welcome. I could always adapt my own characters into a science fiction theme or modern instead of their default fantasy setting. It would be neat to see them using hi-tech weapons or gear, or simply just designed in an urban outfit.
Thanks for all your ideas and enthusiasm, looking forward to working with you on a YCH when the right opportunity comes around.
Even if it's sure that not all of them will pass, it may give you some ideas.
