Ooooookay, here we go! Been a while since I've done any kind of an Inktober type of event, but I'd like to try and do something this year to help break out of a bit of an artwork rut and get drawing again with lots of little simple drawings. I want to re-train myself to try and draw a little every day, practice expressions and build consistency in my art process and style. HENCE: EMOTE-TOBER! Read below for the rules and let's get cracking on drawing your characters!

RULES / HOW TO SIGN UP

If you'd like me to draw an emote / headshot / sticker of your character for Emote-tober, please do the following:

1. Watch my page
2. Comment down below with your character's reference and your desired expression. You may submit up to two different characters and expressions, but make sure to write the one you want most FIRST. I will only be getting into second characters if I don't have enough submissions.
3. (Optional) Make a journal sharing this event and link it. It's not required, but I greatly appreciate the support and I WILL be considering if you've shared a journal when picking characters.

I will be selecting my favourite 31 submissions and then drawing a simple, colored and cel shaded headshot of your selected character 'emoting' with the desired expression.

Some guidelines and things to note about this event:
* this is NOT a first-come-first-served event, so take your time and make sure you include a clear reference for your character AND desired expression.
* if there are 31 or LESS participants by the deadline, everyone is guaranteed to get one drawing, and then I'll pick my favourites among everyone's second choices. If I still don't have enough with everyone's second choices, I'll supplement my own characters, or maybe go borrow friends' characters, we'll see...
* if there are MORE than 31 participants, I will simply be picking my favourite submissions from those who've entered
* if you don't have any exact references for your desired expression, link me something close and describe what you are looking for
* i'm drawing headshots / expressions ONLY, so no hands, feet(?), dialogue, special effects or any other funny business in your ideas please.
* there will not be any opportunity for WIP or changes to the artwork I make for this event. I'm spending maximum 30-45 minutes on each drawing and then moving on, so you get what you get.
* i will confirm at the deadline if you have been chosen for the event, but beyond that, the timing and final result of your drawing will be a surprise

Deadline to submit your ideas is Friday, October 3, 2025 at 1000 Mountain Time. I will not start drawing these until after the deadline has passed, so I will be a little bit behind initially on matching up the drawings with the days of the month, but I'll aim to catch up by the end.
