I just beat Small Saga

I just beat Small Saga. I didn't want it to end, it's so damned good! Been a LONG time since I played a game all the way to the end, but this one had me hooked from beginning to end. If you like rpgs that focus more on story than challenge, it's a high recommend.
now don't take that as the game not having ANY challenge. Trust me, I struggled on a few parts here and there, but felt super rewarded when I figured it out... but yeah, if you are on the fence about getting it... trust me, I was too. It surpassed my expectations.
Story: 9/10 Rather dark, but enough jokes thrown in to keep things from getting too depressive
Artstyle: 10/10 Honestly, this is what first pulled me into the game is how beautiful it is. It's pixelated style but so well done, and especially the look of the combat screen, it's just... Mwah! *chefs kiss*
Soundtrack: 10/10 memorable as hell. The music really helps envelop you into this world. everything from the area music to the fight themes and especially the boss-fights. If I remember correctly, every boss fight actually has their own theme, so it's not just a one-tune-fits-all kind of scenario like alot of the oldschool rpgs around.
Gameplay: 8/10 gameplay is great, albeit just a little tedious or ever-so-slightly drab at moments. Not enough of an issue to be extremely bothered by, however. It's not overbearing and not super difficult, but there is SOME requirement of strategy involved with the later fights. Trust me, don't just go willy-nilly in the later fights. Think about the best way to keep your party alive and stocked on their action points. Don't rush it.
Length: It took me 9 hours, but there were many times I was pulled away for a bit, so this may vary. I'd say on a full playthrough without interruptions, it should take anywhere from 7 to 8 hours. It isnt a long RPG. This is one of those meant for people to play when they can, enjoy the story, and not be pulled away from life for months-on-end just to continue the story. Even if it is "short" as an RPG, It's highly worth the play
Overall: 9.5 out of 10. Honestly, this is one of the best RPGs I've ever had the honor of playing. It's not exactly a masterpiece, but it ALMOST reaches that potential. Still, the story and the artstyle alone, is well worth at least one playthrough of the game... and I guarantee, the music will remain stuck in your head long-after you have beaten the game.
That all being said, according to what I have seen... there is planned DLC/expansion work supposedly coming sometime in the near future... and you best bet my ass will be there, ready to play it when it comes out. I hope the developer continues to make games, cause this was by far one of the most polished, high-quality indie titles i've ever gotten to play.
