Updates / Changes for 2024!

Unfortunately I may be getting a full time job for medical/health insurance reasons very soon </3
This has put a delay on my release of new Patreon/Ko-fi revamp, and very likely means I won't be taking new commissions for an even longer period ><
For now, I may be taking more sketches until sometime in March, or just until I get hired by someone.
Patreon will be kept on pause, or re-opened with the understanding that it serves as purely a DONATION platform for the time being! I do not want to guarantee content if I'm getting a full-time position, but my current patrons seem to be voting that they want this left open <3
Of course this doesn't mean I'm stopping art! It would give me the opportunity to finish my queue without the worry of adding more work, which is great actually! Besides commissions though, I would definitely be taking time to produce things like personal or fanart for enjoyment. I still want to grow my pages as much as possible for an eventual return to full time art :D

Sorry my updates here get a bit sparse, I do need to work on not forgetting to post journals here haha :')
The end of 2023 was super busy for me irl, I went to two conventions in October and also right before Christmas and got sick afterwards for... a week both times (rip) So that was unfortunate, but the experience was still rewarding <3
I'm not sure if I've mentioned here before, but I do also work for a design agency called Creative Workshop alongside my regular commission business! When I travel to conventions it's usually to work events with them 🥰
My contract work for them does put a slowdown on my commissions sometimes, but everyone who is currently waiting should have received a DM from me about this a while ago. I'm slowly working down the list of large/rendered pieces on my queue, and until further notice I won't be accepting anymore slots/YCHs like this to make sure I catch up.
In the meantime, I've been accepting quick sketch style commissions when I need to pay bills. I haven't been posting openings super often due to Patreon snatching up most slots, but keep an eye out if that's something you're interested in- I will likely be sharing a post about one next week!
Also- don't fret if you're someone who's been waiting to order a full render piece! They will be available again when I'm able to work through my backlog- albeit *one* at a time until I'm sure I can handle more.
I just don't want to make the mistake again where I have people waiting too long. I'm very grateful for the patience of my clients, the first 2 years of doing art full time has been a major learning experience for me <3
In other news, Patreon and Ko-fi are actually on pause for this month! There are some brand updates/changes I've been thinking about for a while now, and just never set aside the time to do.
Plus this gives people time to consider the new tier rework that will go live February 1st!
I'll be sharing again when this is officially available- but there's also a public post on my pages for in-depth tier info. Hopefully by the end of the month, I'll have a new website look, plus shiny new banners/icons for Patreon/Kofi :D
TLDR:
-Contract work + two weeks of sick time caused a slowdown through the end quarter of 2023
-Full render commissions / YCHs will not be available UNTIL I get through my current backlog
-When they do return, I will start by only taking one at a time to avoid burnout
-Current commission type available is Quick Sketch style - opening next week! (Will post again next week)
-Patreon + Kofi ON PAUSE for January! NEW TIERS start February 1st! (Will post more about this when it opens, there is a public post on both pages for more info right now)
-New website coming soon! :D

About your work in general... I've known you for a little less than a year, but I always get the impression that you do at least 5-6 commissions a month, even if it's only for the Patreon, which amounts to doing one commission a week; that's a lot if you also work on the side for a company! Really, I'm not worried about your pace.

So me... I moved house before the holidays, and got sick. So I celebrated Christmas and New Year's alone. No friends, no family. Did that bother me? .... Well, honestly, no. In France, we're having a really bad time (like everywhere else, I think), so I wasn't in the mood to celebrate at all. Between me, morally, and the world, there was nothing to make me want to party or celebrate anything.
I've even decided this year not to wish a Happy New Year but to say "good luck for 2024" because for the past few years (I'd say since 2018...) we've had some really crappy years XD
What I'm expecting for 2024 is very selfish, but after all it's my wish, so normal that I am =P
An end to the war in Ukraine so we can get back to affordable prices. Global inflation has hit the art world... I've seen it. Between 30% and 50% price rises. When I used to do 6-8 commissions a month, since the war, I can barely do 3, and sometimes pay in two instalments.
I can't even discover new artists anymore. For example, I'm sure that without the war, I would have participated in a few Patreons, ordered from you, and others, but now I stick with the 3-4 artists I know because inflation prevents me from enjoying the art of other artists.
I wish myself neither health nor wealth... I'm past the age of naivety on these matters. I'm going to get sick for sure, and I'm not going to suddenly become rich XD
On the other hand, I hope the holidays went well for you, that you were able to enjoy yourself, and in 2024 I wish you double the Patreon! Well, no, you'll have even more work to do XD

I'm touched that you think my pace is good enough, and for the kind words you leave about my work!
It makes me so sad to hear about the wars happening elsewhere in the world, and I recognize I am incredibly fortunate to not be close by. I wish I could somehow take it all away, no person deserves to bear witness to that kind of fear and animosity. And yes the economic issues that have been caused as well are just very irritating for everyone I'm sure :(
I know things are so hard financially for a lot of people right now, so I never ever expect any financial support or want people to feel obligated for that sort of thing. But I do want you to know I always appreciate your moral support, and I hope you know it means the world still (and to any other artists you speak to as well!)<3
I'm glad we can at least learn to laugh and be kind to one another through the difficulties life throws our way, here's to 2024! I wish you only the best :D

If I can tell you an anecdote... It's just us after all =P (and the hundreds of people who read XD)
I have a big project for my OC and my daughters, of whom there are 4 in total. One of them has come to fruition. So I'm at 25%!
And it turns out that to get to 50%, I had to do a lot of research and I came across one of your arts and since that day.... I follow you ♥
If I tell you this it's because I think you're followed by at least twice as many people, but that some don't dare, or don't have the time to leave you big messages like me lol
So, for this year, this is what I wish you =)
That lots of people dare, with courage, to say a little word to you, to prove to you that you make lots of people smile with your art^^
As for war... Who wants one? You'd have to be crazy to want war... Well, I think there's some information I don't know so I don't feel in a position to judge, but like you I think of those who have war on their doorstep. Okay, my wish for 2024 is selfish, but at the same time it will bring the conflict to an end =P
In any case, you, or the others, I support you with my words, and when I can, with my finances ♥
