YouTuber, he used what was effectively channel funds for self indulgence. Then YouTube sent him through the wringer and he started to drop off on analytics. Complained about income, tried to get free animation work with the promise of exposure and a channel plushy, and is now pounding all the "help me fund the channel" stuff like patreon and YouTube engagement tick boxes. That animation was never intended to be released, it can't be monetized on YouTube, dude shot himself in the foot.

honestly, looking at it at face value and filtering out all the crazy shit like people saying a 15 year old did the animation (It was an animation team and the price makes sense for how long it is), and the "he's an alt right clown", I think this is more a millennial that was riding high on a well paying job and made a stupid decision to indulge himself. As a millennial, I know it all to well the desire to indulge on "material" things until just before covid when my job pulled up stakes and left the state so the CEO could golden parachute out. The 8 years before was the most "indulgent" period of my life in terms of small happiness, but to me a small indulgence was spending 100ish bucks on a commission once every other month or buying manga to read and squirreling away as much money as I could for a disaster.
