Patreon vs Subscribestar, February Plans, and Assimilatio...
I hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to share some thoughts and update on some near-future plans.
I am in the process of getting the rest of my documentation so I can move to Germany. We're hoping this takes place in April, but I doubt this will be delayed to the summer (I'm having my spring wedding, gawdammit lol). I am excited at the prospect of launching Patreon, but hesitant as I'd have to close my PayPal account and open a new one after my international move. I have not done research directly on this, especially since this is a particular situation, but welcome advice on anyone who has. I'm a bit hesitant to launch now, because I fear it could be seem as suspicious activity, and we just ain't got time for that.
But on the topic of Patreon, I am wondering if I should instead look to Subscribestar? I've already seen a number of folks opting to phase out of Patreon in favor of Subscribestar. While I could launch both, I worry that's stretching things too thin (I still have a backlog of things to upload to SoFurry, and wondering if I should even bother with Inkbunny lol). I wanted some thoughts on that. Don't be afraid to message me in private if you're not keen on a public response lol ... Anywho, I need to look into how billing and all is done regardless, because while 'Wildclaw' is going to be the intended typical monthly reward I also want to write other original pieces to first share there and conduct polls and all to gauge interest from people investing their time and attention into my work.
Also, should I put together a Telegram group? I've been wondering if there's interest in that. I'm not ready to put together a Discord server yet, but it'd be nice to have a little community of encouragement lol
The rest of January into early/mid-February is going be spent clearing out my commission queue. I have five stories upcoming, including part three of 'Vectorium.' From there I plan to close commissions for a while so I can focus exclusively on Assimilation and getting myself better prepared for the actual move ... selling off belongings, shipping over things I absolutely cannot part with, and so on and so forth. It's a bit sad, but it's also positive, because this move is the next chapter of my life. Words cannot express how happy and ready I am for this step into the next chapter of my life; I love my fiancé so much and can't wait to legally call him my husband lol
Some highlights for the rest of 2024 is that obviously my fiancé and I are getting married ... a small ceremony, but it's special for us. We're planning to attend Eurofurence as it's going to be a short road trip there, so I am quite excited for that. After the move I'll be able to get all of the necessary things in place so I can launch Patribestar ... Subscreon ... oh that last one sounded like a Pokémon lol ... ahem ... but I'm expecting to launch that come summer. Once I have settled in I'm going to be more set on doing more writing during the month; my goal is steadily writing 20 new stories/parts each month, so keep me motivated by SMASHING THAT LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE BUTTON er jk but you know what I mean lol ... future plans do involve things like YCH auctions, anthologies, publishing eBooks and the like. I am manifesting my own destiny by putting the plans to paper ... well, proverbial paper, anywho.
I do want to assure folks that I have written a full timeline for how I want Assimilation's story to go from start to finish. The original six parts I'd written will certainly be the core of the start of the story, but I am looking forward to exploring things more in-depth, like Nekko's struggles in his life and how the escape into becoming Koga's pet is a nice way to cope, and sharing more of Nekko and Todd's story and how it fell apart. With Todd ... if you know you know ... I want to delve more into who he is. That being said, I am excited to write it, and need to just let myself get back to those roots and flesh it out. It's what got me known in certain circles, and I look forward to old fans of the series finally seeing the story come to fruition.
I've rambled on long enough. Take care!
Cheers 🌈💫
