I get it man, the dolphin drives are sick business :( its a really cruel and terrible practice, and plenty of the younger generation in japan is fighting and protesting it. Its a tradition, so the more traditional older folks who grew up with it dont want to let it go, but I think there is some progress being made.
Even with the horrible implications of the slaughter aside, the dolphin meat from those drives is not safe to eat, and there is backlash.
From the animal welfare angle, all of the 63 member aquariums and 89 zoos of the Japanese group stopped purchasing dolphins captured in these drives as well. This brings down the demand.

Its still a terrible thing, but there is hope, and actions being taken to try and stop it.

I totally agree! But... In the country where I live now, dolphinariums still buy dolphins from Japan(.
It's terrible and disgusting, and no one can dissuade the owners of dolphinariums in my country from buying dolphins from Japan and not keeping dolphins in captivity at all...
Who knows, maybe it will stop someday, but not these days.

Yeah, unfortunately internationally we can't entirely stop it. At least not yet. I hope with research in dolphin communcation we can achieve more protections for ceataceans worldwide

I have already developed some kind of shame for my country because of this.
It's disgusting, and I'm against catching cetaceans. It's disgusting to take cubs from their families.

i absolutely agree, its a horrible thing to do. but remember its not your entire country allowing this to happen! dont give up hope and activism, this is something we need to try and fight for, its not a change that will happen overnight
