Despite all the furry in-jokes about e621 having all teh furreh pr0nz evar!, the sad fact of the matter is that that place really only ever gets the scraps.
If you truly want the **MEAT** of furry art, you'd have to go onto Twitter, Patreon (including/esp the leaks...but you didn't hear that from me. >.>;;; ), the furry imageboards, and do further digging elsewhere.
Twitter still holds the majority of the fandom and unfortunately, e621 links to Twitter a lot and those links aren’t public anymore.
As someone who hasn't been on Twitter since early 2018 (and is NOT going back!), I can't tell you how much of an absolute fucking DOGSENT that vxtwitter or fxtwitter (and fxfurraffinity.net or the vx version, for that matter...) is in both discord and Telegram. X.x
Hell, I've even had issues with e621 where even this bloody place had recent shit that is not posted there! Bloody hell. @.@

I ain't going back there ever again either.
Good, smart, and cute mousy! *snugs and pets you softly*
Lonely furries go there for the hope of "engagement" because twitter has more people than a "furry" site, but it is a toxic cesspit of bullshittery, and furry art often gets "human washed" over time because if it looks too "toony" normies scream about "coming after muh childrens" and if it gets too "animalistic" then other people start screaming about "it's bestiality!"... So over the years a lot of furry art is getting to the point it is closer to an anime cat-person than it is to humanized animals.
People are addicted to social media, and I mean that literally... It is designed to make people "feel" like "number go up, you have more friends!" when they really don't. Which is insidious considering how hard it is to actually make friends in the real world.
I'm still pissed over the fact twatter is just NOT an ART site... And even more so that people feel it is the ONLY place they should post.
It's like this one floof said of the guys who make/maintain this site that, "your window to update it is long over; you are (at least partially) responsible for the mass (furry) exodus to Twitter and the resulting TONS of great furry art that future generations of furries will never see. I hope you're all proud of yourselves."
And yeah, it's one thing if you have a brand/business/etc that you're trying to promote for the sake of your livelihood. But if it's just for engagement, etc, I highly recommend gtfo that place asafp for the sake of your own sanity.
I left in mid 2018, and I haven't looked back since.
I cut out mainstream social media and ANYTHING that "imitates" it back around 2008 or 2009. ANY of the "infinite scrolling" social media sites as they are all designed to be psychologically addictive.
