I still can’t believe it
It’s a loss for the whole world, not just Russia

His returning to Russia, knowing that it was likely to lead to his imprisonment and death, reminds me of the death of Socrates (circa 399BC in classical Athens). Except Socrates was much older and thus had less to lose.

Yes and my heart goes out to his family, friends and crew. I knew of him but had grown quite fond of him after watching the academy award winning documentary film on his work to expose Putin. I hoped he would outlast the current president but was worried when he was moved to a far away camp a few weeks ago. We can only hope that his death inspires more to challenge the Putin regime at home and from abroad. And anyone that missed it should watch that movie about him, what an amazing fellow, a man for his time.

I do not see a tragedy in this, because he was the same fake opposition as Putin himself was in his time.
His participation in Russian marches with racist slogans "Russia for Russians" and "Crimea is not a sandwich" showed his true face long before all this.

The Russians themselves don't care about it either, no one will come out to take revenge for him.

If there is a silver lining to this, it's that this came back to bite Putin and his Kremlin cronies quite hard. And the recent detaining and arresting of anti-war activists have also put Putin in the hot-seat as well.

Over the last few weeks, many Russians started multiple protests in the wake of Navalny's death. Some of those protests ranged from hundreds to THOUSANDS.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Russia has civil war in the near future. It's obviously been far too long that Russia has been needing a change in leadership.
