Even though we haven't interacted on Discord, I hope you can get your account back...

Scammers are the worst. Hope you get your Discord account back without any problems.

Took me 3+ months, despite having a lot of evidence to give their customer service including where the malware came from. It did the dirty deed despite there having been 2FA locks on my account. Since I don't feel I can trust the security of their service, once I got the account back, I terminated it irrevocably and do not intend to return. Just sayin' in case you're wondering what's taking so long.

I simple fell for a scam, which made me feel even worse. Friend messaged me the old "I reported you by accident, talk to this admin to fix it up" and the guy convinced me to change the Discord's email to something else, and thus took control of my Discord. It theory could be easy to fix if the REAL admins can return the account to it's first email, but it's a saturday night to boot, so this can take a long time.

I guess Discord needs to implement precaution messages for dummies, like steam does or some other games.


I remember I was similarly almost scammed on steam, but I remembered the message "Admin will never ask for your login and password".


Although I fell for scam of "vote for my Esport team", and I realized suspicious action when steam emailed me that I try to connect through different country.

Thankfully, probably 2FA helped me in that case. but I changed all passwords everywhere I could that was somehow related.

In my case, it was a (hacked) friend asking me to beta test a game. Gave me URL and password for the "game" which had Unity as part of its package, so on the surface it looked legit. But in sheer seconds, running it began what looks like a Windows Power Automate script and logged me out, apparently after having hijacked the account - changing email, 2FA method, username, even the language settings. When I recovered the account the username was derivative (apparently to spoof others), and language was set to Turkish.

I had 2 malware programs running at the time, including Norton. McAfee, Avast and F-Secure were run after the fact as well as adware scan and destroy. None of these found an issue with the software, none of them could block these actions from happening. It left some corrupt (assumedly back-door) version of Power Automate on my system, one that only a reformat of windows could eradicate.

How unfortunate you had to go through that terrible issue and abandon the service entirely. I understand your reasons, ngl. 😓😢
