Update On Housing Situation

Hey folks,
after a long and tiring battle, I've decided to give up, tail between my legs.
I did not receive my full $866 bond in the end and had to accept $398.68 instead, the rest used for unpaid rent.
While emotionally I'm defeated, at least it's over and my stuff is in storage.
The positives are:
• my livelihood is safe in storage for 2 months.
•And family is keeping me from homelessness.
All I can do now is admit my faults in lack of preparation, and work to make back the difference of $467.32 that was taken from my bond.
I can try to end this on a positive note that I'm using this as a harsh learning experience in renting, prioritising time, and choosing my battles. Despite the horrible people I had to deal with, I have another chance to start again.

If you have laws where you live that has to do with Tenants' Rights. You should use them and you could also leave an anonymous tip to the proper authorities about what is happening. Because if the landlord is willing to turn a blind eye to what those friends were doing by subletting to other people. Then what else illegal things are happening at that apartment complex
So they can kiss that safety deposit plus extra goodbye, once they've been found out by the landlady that they've been subletting. Also, don't give up on getting into contact with the landlady.
