this site needs WEBM/MP4 support, got damn
a year ago
I'm aware of the possible server costs, bandwidth issues, and overall degraded site-performance needed to host and process video files (SWF files wouldn't work here; I've tried using those for "video" files lmao, and also FA doesn't support SWF file upload anymore), anyways-- this site needs video file support.
Like, make it a damn FA+ feature or some shit-- I just want video file support on this damn website; I'd pay for it just to be able to upload video files.
I have to keep going to other places to have the videos be linked back over to here (E621's my main goto, given my usual content; youtube, if I'm feeling extra spicy) so that my animated stuff has some kinda full-res version somewhere to witness.
honestly, FA has been a major reason as to why I haven't gotten heavier into animation (although I've convinced myself that it's no longer an excuse, so now I'm just jumping into doing animation more heavily anyways), because it's where I'd like to upload my stuff (my usual stuff at least) without segmenting it to other places.
Of course though, this ain't Twitter or DeviantArt, so they don't got that huge-boi cash or investor power to support a ridiculous level of power like those sites do. I was hoping that by 2024, this site would have MP4/WEBM support or something, god damn.
anyways, bubbles are cool.
