Yeah, this is why I really don’t want a Discord.

every platform has scammers. Everything is at risk at all times. Just Discord isn't to blame.
personally removing the # and four series number at the end of the name was a big mistake imo. It was a second check for most people to make sure they were talking to the right person.

Maybe so, but I fear this as a regular thing from Discord more then any other platform.

The hacked account tried to get me though your DMs. I have blocked and removed it from my discord server.

Sadly this scam has been everywhere lately on discord, and there's another version that is really similar but they try to get your steam account

Ah, yeah, I had people try that to me several times. Didn’t fall for it because every account they tried it with were people that rarely ever messaged me.

Same thing with me, every single time. It's always been an account for someone who hasn't spoken to me in years or months, so the moment they're like "oh hey I accidentally reported you" I just immediately tell them "fuck off scammer, I know you're scheme" and they don't respond or delete me before I report it. I've had so many of them lately it's getting ridiculous.

Yeah, and last time one of them went with that copy pasted “Hey, are you busy? I really need your help”, I told them I was in fact busy, and certainly too busy to deal with such scammers, then told them to find a different way to waste their own time. Lol

I've only had this type of message sent to me a while back from someone's hacked account (wasn't yours, someone else's). I could smell the bullshit from a mile away and called them out on it, then reported and blocked the hacked account.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know what you are going through. It happened to me as well a month or two ago.
