Thank-you all for the kind words. It's been 2 days now and it's been very difficult as she was very special to my heart. It will take time but I will be alright. She brought such a joy to my life. Having pets is so rewarding but unfortunately they don't live as long as we do and there will always be that difficult day when their time comes to move on from this world. But to give them so much love in life and get so much love back from them is something absolutely special.

I’m a bit late, but I offer your boyfriend my commiserations. I’ve been through such loss a couple times myself, and while I did like some of those cats more than others, that doesn’t mean there was any measurable difference in the anguish involved on each occasion.
