Update!
I think this is my first journal on here! It’s nice to see FA is still alive and kicking. I thought I’d use this space to give an update on what I’ve been up to and how things are going with Good Boy Comics.
It’s been a long year. Last winter, one of my parents passed away and with that came a lot of changes in my life. Work also went into overdrive, and since then, things on Patreon were moving at a slower pace. I want to thank everyone who supported Tank and myself over the years, last year especially. Your support meant everything and kept me on my feet during a very unstable time. I can’t describe how grateful I am, thank you so much.
It was disappointing when Patreon made their stance on AB/DL material very clear last fall, but we had an amazing ride. When Tank and I first started out, we hoped to make enough monthly to maybe cover gas commuting to college, but to our amazement, we quickly surpassed that! It felt so validating seeing how many people connected with our very niche work and knowing we weren’t alone in what we loved. When Patreon removed our account overnight, we decided to keep moving forward and bring our library over to SubscribeStar.
During this time and much of the summer, I was knee-deep in interviews and creating a portfolio to get back into the design field. I left my old job, worked freelance all summer, and prepared my resume to give design another shot. In the end, I landed a great job.
Since the winter, I’ve been focusing on this new position and keeping up with the freelance projects I took on before starting. Most days I work from 8am to 1am and I’m tired. I took on too much at once. While we’ll have new things to share on SubscribeStar soon, I haven’t been committing the time necessary to deliver the caliber of material you guys signed up for. Thank you to everyone who has been donating the last few months despite new content being sparse. We’ll have a more thorough update on our plans soon, but I hope this provides some context.
Things are still busy, but my schedule will be clearing up next month, and I’m excited to get back drawing again. I’ve missed it. Thank you for sticking around. This community means a lot to me and I’m so appreciative to be a part of it and have such a fulfilling creative outlet. I’m looking forward to sharing what our fuzzy friends have been up to, but in the meantime, wash your paws, eat your vegetables, and (try to) keep your pants dry.
Thank you all for your amazing support,
Colt

Thank you both for all the creations thus far, and here’s hoping 2024 treats us all better than 2023 did.
Hope things ease out for you.
and the new job, congrats on that! It must've felt amazing to land, or a relief, depending on the interview process.
Working with you has been hands down the most fulfilling thing I've ever done as a writer, and I can't wait to get more of our stuff out of our brains and down on paper.
I'm glad you're able to keep getting donations via SubscribeStar. Ko-fi might also be an option.
Welcome back :)
Take care of yourself and your family
Continues like this , please :3
I don't know how you're surviving an 8am-1am workload. I do 7am-4:30pm and I find that more than enough.
I hope you can carve out a more reasonable work schedule- your employer really should want to facilitate that for you, because you deserve to be happy and well-rested as an employee. The real purpose of the economy is meant to be to facilitate that for folks.
You'll always be one of the most important characters in this strange little corner of the internet, and your presence remains invaluable!
